More C&C:A

Played 2 more scenarios from C&C:Ancients last night on Vassal -- Bagdaras (sp?) and Trebbia. All I can say, is, I hope I got rid of all my bad die rolls prior to WBC. Damn!

I do realize we're in the "lazy, hazy" days of summer, but I hope there will be some interest in starting a little C&C/Vassal league, per July 30th's post. I'm not getting any bites on Consimworld (folks are ignoring my IMs -- I must really be out of the "in" crowd now, LOL!), but I know there are guys here, besides Marc, who enjoy playing on Vassal. Just let me know!

I'm currently deciding what to bring/not bring to WBC. I've decided to go "euro" heavy in tourneys this year, playing wargames mostly for fun, as I have time. I just don't have the stamina now for 16+ straight hours of Wilderness War. So, my packing will probably be worse than in past years, as I'll want several wargames in there to play for fun, as well as the other assorted stuff. On top of that, Ron Wuerth wants me to do my best to continue "Ron Con," so I'll have to be ready .

In addition, I'm pretty intimidated by all the work I have to get done between now and Monday morning. I'm about to delve into some tonight -- unless, of course, someone wants a Vassal game...

Hasn't that been changed to "Screw Rob Con"?

I haven't used Vassal yet, and I don't play CC:A much at all, still I might join the league.

I'll be at Rochester after WBC. You can get me up to speed.

If I can get skype working I'm in...

I'll also ask my friend in Richmond.

If I'm in, he'll probably be in..

What time will you be getting in on Monday? Nels and I should be at HRC all day.

Bruce Wigdor wasn't sure where he was staying, so he's going to bunk with Tom and I at the Econolodge North (Tom's going to room with Frank from Tuesday on). I've got to be careful to not stay up all night talking with Bruce.

OK Grant and John, and John's friend in Richmond, we've got something going...

C&C is pretty cool, Grant -- and easy :-)

I'll probably be leaving Rochester Noonish, so I'll be getting to Lancaster around dinner time.

Nothing planned for Monday evening, but I hope to get in the Manouevre (sp?) tourney on Tuesday...

Look us up when you get in Rob.

I never tried Vassal, but I only bring my laptop home on weekends, and would have to fight Allison for the fast computer during the week.

Someday I'll try C&C

I'll find you Grant, don't worry! ;-)

Come to the dark side, George -- it's not an Avalanche game, so it's got that going for it!

Skype is now apparantly working.

My friend in Richmond is in per our conversation this AM.

Warning, we tend to analysis paralysis at times. But I have come to a WTF mode in these games so I'm picking up speed :)

Haven't you corrupted Bob & Cory yet Rob?

Bob plays C&C, not sure if Cory ever has...

And we've gotta try to move quickly -- I hate slow games! You can do it!!!

I have played CC::A with Rob when it was his "flavor of the month" game at Millennium. I also played the CC:WW II version and still reading the rules when I'm not writing music for the up and coming CD.

Rob
Come clean. You want to play fast so the other guy makes mistakes,,right ?.

Cory

Flavor of the month?

C&C: Ancients and Combat Commander have, rightfully, earned a place in the "will always play" pile.

While many games don't pass initial muster (and very few older ones are even worthy of sitting on my shelves), these 2 series are excellent, fun games -- games that meet my criteria for "good gaming."
